about

Recorded on 4th December 2016 at Islington Mill, Salford, Greater Manchester, UK. After adventures in the Peak District Isn'tses entered into the Salford area and landed at Islington Mill. We were led up several flights of stairs and into a very big artist studio. A further staircase led us to the space known as the Attic, which on first glance looked like a scene from a horror film with a creepy rocking chair in the distance. Despite the initial terror we felt we nevertheless set up our electronic devices and off we went. The result is a 50+ minute recording of our collaboration including noises, song-writing, guitars, noise boxes, beat boxes and several microphones.

Lisa McKendrick - guitar, vocals, electronic boxes
Tim Drage - electronic mayhem
Richard Chamberlain - guitar, vocals, noises

Recorded by Darren Kaskie who was brave enough to take us into the attic after an all-night party and set us up to record with his digital multi-track recorder just before he headed off to get a curry. When he came back we had played an improvised 50+ minute set of noise and other stuff with an actual song somewhere in the middle track: "We did a song"

Big thanks to Ely Grey and all at Islington Mill for having us.

about

Isn'tses London, UK

Harsh fun duo Lisa McKendrick and Tim Drage. Adhering only to a mythical structure, Isn'tses inflect a narrative of textured sound and auditory fullness using esoteric electronics, aggressive vocals and beats.
