“Tales From The Control Room” is the new album from London-based duo Isn’tses (Multidisciplinary artist and musician Lisa McKendrick + animator and noisician Tim Drage.) The 13 tracks range from rhythmic industrial electronics to ominous glitched noisescapes and are inspired by the history of the Chernobyl disaster.

The album was created almost entirely using samples from Isn’tses 'Chernobylizer Sample Pack' - a toolbox of sounds from their self-designed ‘Chernobylizer’ noise synth - manipulated and arranged using the Elektron Octatrack (Lisa) and Monome Norns Shield (Tim). - isntses.bandcamp.com/album/chernobylizer-sample-pack

The Chernobylizer is a synthesiser designed by Isn'tses (Lisa McKendrick & Tim Drage). This psychogeographic and esoteric custom-built synth contains a world of unique aggressive sounds, including throbbing multi-oscillator pulsewaves, crunchy glitches, bass rumble, harsh noise, 8-bit-esque bleeps, geiger-counter clicks, birdlike tweets and a unique motor-like power-draining effect. Detailed PCB art covers both sides of the board.
